A once-upon-a-time corporate lawyer…

Ela Das began her journalistic career at Condé Nast, working with several titles until her last role as the founding digital editor of Architectural Digest India. 

As a Mumbai-based journalist and creative consultant, her two-decade career has largely focussed on reporting on art, design and culture. Today, she contributes to leading publications across the country and internationally, such as Architectural Digest, Beautiful Homes, Condé Nast Traveller, ELLE Decor, The Hindu, Sunday mid-day and Vogue, to name a few; while also consulting with designers, brands and studios for content strategy and creative direction.

A longtime supporter of architectural conservation across the city of Mumbai, she works closely with preservation societies and the government to protect the city’s heritage structures and landscapes.
